After last week’s heavy rain, Manx Utilities says reservoir levels have risen up to 71% capacity.

This is a 4% increase on last week but is still 11% down on average for this time of the year.

Interestingly, or maybe not but there we go, while West Baldwin (Injerbrek) and Sulby are up, Clypse and Kerrowdhoo, which are both on the outskirts of Onchan, are still slightly down week on week.

The MUA said: ‘As a result of this, we are working with DEFA to increase the compensation releases from Sulby Reservoir to normal flows. We continue to monitor the water stocks and will provide further updates in due course.’

A further update is due in the coming days.
