River Buddies Are Go
No Beach Buddies meeting on Sunday,.
After a slight delay to plans last weekend, River Buddies will get underway this weekend.
A branch off from Beach Buddies, River Buddies is also organised by Bill Dale.
This weekend will see volunteers meet on the banks of the Douglas River near the Nunnery.
Bill said: ‘There will not be a volunteer event for Beach Buddies on Sunday, due to a poor weather forecast (90% chance of heavy rain), so please come along to the river event on Saturday if you can make it.
‘The meeting point is at the Power Station end of the access road leading to the amenity site. The event will take place from 10.30am and finish no later than 12 noon. Access to the river itself is not advised this time of year during the migratory fish spawning months, so there will be a clean-up along the banks of the river.’
