Ravens up to Third with Win

FC Isle of Man extended their winning streak to four in a row on Saturday, taking them up to third in the NWCFL Premier Division.

Goals from Dean Leece and Dean Pinnington saw off Longridge Town.

Having been the hero in mid-week with a last minute winner away at Litherland Remyca, it didn’t take Leece too long to find the back of the net again as he riffled in a shot to give the travelling Ravens the lead after 18 minutes.

With a back and forth game, it was only when Pinnington climbed off the bench that the Ravens gained their second goal to secure the win. With a free kick on the edge of the box, Pinnington stepped up to take it and with his first touch of the game, sent it over the wall and past the keeper much to the excitement of the away support.

It wasn’t all plain sailing from there as Sherrard received a late red card, but that didn’t affect the result as the Ravens won 2-0.

The Ravens are back on the road again tomorrow with a bank holiday Monday trip to rock-bottom Skelmersdale United.
