Fire Engine and Bin Lorry Among Items Going Under the Hammer
Ever fancied turning up to work in a fire engine? Or maybe collecting your pals for a night out in a bin lorry?
Well, good news, both could be yours this weekend at Chrystals Auctions.
Yes, really.
The Manx auction house is hosting its Vehicles, Machinery & Plant Equipment sale on Saturday, November 1 at 12 noon, and the line up is strong.
Among the lots going under the hammer are a black Porsche, a silver Ford Fiesta, a cool retro Fiat poster, and, the stars of the show, an old fire engine and a bin lorry, which appears to be formerly of Ramsey Town Commissioners. Because, why not?
The catalogue is already online, and viewing opens at the old Park Road School site in Douglas on Friday (10am to 5pm) and again Saturday morning before the sale (9am to 11.30am, last key out at 11am).
There’s even a Jaguar number plate, ‘J49-MAN’, for anyone wanting to subtly let people know they’re, well, a Jag Man.
Chrystals say: ‘DON’T MISS IT!’
And honestly, you shouldn’t. Who knows when you’ll next get the chance to own a piece of Manx firefighting history and the island’s finest former bin wagon in one go?
If you fancy a bid (or just want to nosey at what’s up for grabs), head to chrystalsauctions.im or the Easy Live Auction site.
Gef asks kindly that people don’t turn up to McDonald’s (now she’s back open) in the fire engine pretending to be on call. That’s not how it works.
