Get Off Your High Horse & Onto The Horse Trams Instead
New season begins 28 March
It’s nearly that time of year again where many of us suffer incessant road rage every morning on the way to work after getting stuck behind a horse tram. Sitting in the queue of traffic, crawling at a pace so slow a snail would mock you, until FINALLY you get the opportunity to overtake. As you drive past, now supporting a face full of thunder, you turn and look at the object of your rage and see William, the beautiful beast that he is, plodding along happily. All inner rage disappears instantly and you carry on with your day feeling nice because you’ve made passing eye contact with a cute animal.
The new season for the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway services starts on Thursday, 28 March with the first tram leaving the Derby Castle MER Station at 9:05am, arriving at the Villa Marina 10 minutes later. The return journey will depart at 9.20am.
Trams will leave Derby Castle every half hour until 12.05pm before an hour break with the next tram departing the north-end of the promenade at 1.10pm.
Services then resume on a half-hour basis, with the last tram departing Derby Castle at 5pm and the Villa Marina at 5.15pm.
So, don’t put the cart before the horse. Instead of driving to and from work, why not jump on the horse trams instead.
