Gov Wants To Hear From You (No, Really!)
In a plot twist no one saw coming, the Isle of Man Government actually wants to hear what you think about living here.
No, this isn’t a trick—there’s a brand-new Resident Sentiment Survey out now, and they’re asking for your opinions on things like customer service, infrastructure, and general satisfaction with life on the rock.
It’ll only take you roughly 20 minutes complete. Whether anyone actually reads the responses is another question entirely, but at least you can say you tried.
It’s all part of the Destination First Board’s big plan to make the island a better place for both residents and visitors.
The Board, made up of government departments, local authorities, and what they call ‘public champions’ (which sounds very grand), says this is just the first of many surveys to come.
So, if you’ve ever moaned about potholes, bus timetables, or the price of a pint, this is your chance to make it official.
Ranald Caldwell, Chair of the Destination First Board, said: ‘We believe that understanding the thoughts and experiences of our residents is crucial in shaping the future of the Isle of Man’. Translation: tell us what’s good, what’s bad, and what makes you want to move to a cave in the hills.
Sarah Maltby MHK called the Board ‘a collaboration of stakeholders only seen in dreams’—which is an extremely bold claim.
She added: ‘This is your opportunity to share your perspectives, raise concerns and help shape the future of your island.’
