Cummal Mooar Closure Put on Hold
Manx Care had previously said that the existing home will close within two years, before a new facility is available in the north of the island.
Following further discussions between the DHSC and Manx Care the planned closure of Cummal Mooar has been paused.

The pause has been agreed to allow conversations to continue with Treasury regarding funding for a replacement facility.
In July, Manx Care said plans to replace the home with a new residential home would not be going ahead to allow a review of the service requirements.
This came amidst a claim that costs had spiralled to £13m, even though the originally quoted price was just £12.75m.
A Manx Care statement said: ‘Meetings will be held with staff, residents, and their families, over the course of this week to explain the pause, and to provide further detail and give them the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. In addition a Q&A page has been published for those who are unable to attend.
‘At this point we do not know how long the pause will be, however we are committed to ensuring that everyone is kept up to date as discussions progress. We understand that this is an anxious time for residents, their families and the colleagues who work at Cummal Mooar and wish to express our sincere apologies for any upset that has been caused.’
