Police Appeal
Police in the north of the island are appealing for info after a car failed to stop following a crash
The police said: ‘At about 1.20pm, a vehicle collided with a car that was parked on New Road in Laxey; in one of the parking bays opposite the Skillan Naylor forecourt. Damage was caused to the off-side (Driver’s side) of the vehicle that was hit. Sadly however, the offending vehicle made no attempt to stop at the scene and simply drove off.
‘Given the damage that was caused to the parked vehicle, the offending driver would have known that they had collided with the same. If you were the driver of the offending vehicle, or have any information that may be of assistance to officers investigating this incident, please make contact with staff at your nearest Police Station.’
Police Warning
From tomorrow (Friday) until Wednesday August 31, cycling is prohibited on the Mountain Road.
The cops said: ‘It is imperative that cyclists obey this instruction. Anyone found cycling on the Mountain during this restriction will be arrested.’
