Manx Care has welcomed the decision by nurses to accept its latest pay offer.

RCN staff voted to accept the latest pay offer from Manx Care, with 71% of members choosing to accept the revised pay offer on a 50% turnout.

That offer was for a consolidated increase of £1,500 to each pay point, with effect from April 1 2022, in addition to the 6% increase already implemented.

The dispute led to two days of strike action by nurses on the island earlier this year.

A Manx Care spokesperson said: ‘We are pleased that negotiations have been successful, and that members of the Royal College of Nursing have accepted the most recent pay offer. We acknowledge that this has been an unsettled time for many of our colleagues, and appreciate the open dialogue that has taken place with staff-side representatives throughout.’

However, Manx Care has not yet said how much this deal with cost or where the money is coming from to pay for it.
