The Island’s Sexual Health Clinic Is Making A Move!

The Sexual Health Clinic is moving!

The GUM (Genito Urinary Medicine) is set to enter a new era, with a fresh identity.

Branching out from Nobles Hospital, the new venue will be based on Kensington Road in Douglas.

Formerly known as the ‘Genito Urinary Medicine Clinic’, it will be renamed as the ‘Manx Integrated Sexual Health Centre’ or ‘MISH’.

The new clinic will act as a ‘one stop shop’ for all concerns, inquiries and treatments.

This includes a full range of contraception options.

All STI’S will be able to be tested, treated and managed. This includes HIV, which previously required the patient to attend appointments in numerous locations.

Amanda Dawson, Lead Nurse for Integrated Sexual Health Services, said: ‘We are really excited about this move, which we believe will have an extremely positive impact on the care and support we can provide to our patients.

‘The new, larger space offers more clinical rooms to address the demands of our ever-growing service. It is a modern space that is much more suitable for our service needs, and its location is more accessible for our patients.’

The staff who work at the clinic have already started the move, with the clinic being shut for a short amount of time.

It will re-open to the public on Tuesday, November 12.
