Port St Mary Commissioners will not be having an election in December after only one person came forward to join the local authority.
The board had sought to fill two seats.
Following the closure of nominations, the board has announced that Robert O’Meara has been elected unopposed.
The authority said: ‘The Board very much look forward to working with Mr O’Meara.’
We don’t yet know if Port Erin has been successful in filling its vacancies.
