Peel’s New Sweet Sensation!

Heading to Peel for an ice cream has always been a much-loved part of Manx life.

But as of last week, you can now travel west for gelato.

And for those that don’t know, it’s a frozen dessert of Italian origin. But it’s not ice cream!

After making waves in Ramsey and Douglas, Gelatory decided it was time to bring its popular delights to Sunset City.

Setting up shop in the old chippy on East Quay, Peel’s newest store has been bustling with exciting customers since its opening.

Welcoming customers from 1pm to 9pm on weekdays and from 11am to 9pm on weekends, queues of hungry westerners have stretched as far as the Peveril since it flung open its doors.

Owner Rory Dorling expressed his gratitude, thanking the people of Peel for their warm welcome and kind words.

‘This weekend in Peel has been amazing,’ Rory shared. ‘The community has been incredibly welcoming, and the support from neighboring businesses along the Quay and Prom has been wonderful.’

Following the opening, The Gelatory announced a slight price increase due to rising costs.

Chocolate prices have surged by 40%, and higher wages mandated by the Isle of Man government have contributed to the need for this change.

As a result, the prices of cups and cones at Gelatory have risen by 20p, and bricks have increased by 50p, reflecting a 4.7% overall increase in key menu items.

But this modest rise isn’t putting people off, and customers have shown their support and understanding since the announcement.
