Town’s Bid to Demolish Fire Station
The former Castletown Fire Station was bought by the Commissioners in 2018
Castletown’s former fire station could be demolished and replaced with a car park, if plans submitted by the local authority are approved.
The application (24/00019/B) would create 36 parking spaces.
The former Castletown Fire Station was bought by the Commissioners in 2018 with the long term perspective of creating additional town parking.
It subsequently leased it to Bottle Monkey Co before the business closed and its plans for a microbrewery in the town went down the drain.
If approved, the plan would replace the spaces lost by the authority’s plans to fully pedestrianise Market Square. The new parking would have 36 spaces, including four disabled bays and four EV charging bays and space for bicycles.
