Plans For Offices, Hotel and Shops Unveiled

The Tevir Group has unveiled plans that would completely change the face of Douglas Promenade.

It has said it will shortly be submitting plans for a new mixed-use development at the Villiers Square site, Loch Promenade, Douglas.

The plans for the Villiers Square development incorporate over 80,000 sq ft of purpose-built ‘Grade A’ office, retail, and leisure space, an 80-bedroom hotel, a fully landscaped public amenity space and an improved streetscape behind Villiers House and Clarendon House.

Tevir Group said it ‘has engaged in a comprehensive pre-application process and a detailed planning application will be submitted for consideration within a matter of weeks, following final consultation with key stakeholders’.

And added: ‘The proposed development will finally complete a scheme which commenced under previous ownership over 25 years ago. The lack of activity on the site has undoubtedly been a source of frustration for island residents, businesses, and government alike.’

We are grateful for the support of the Department for Enterprise; the island’s Infrastructure Scheme has been a key element in enabling us to progress the development. Subject to obtaining planning permission, we will be looking to start work on the site as soon as practicably possible.
