Commissioners Summoned to Explain Finances
A requisition meeting has been called by Captain of the Parish Thomas Caley after receiving a letter signed by 12 residents.
Braddan residents will have a chance to question the local authority about its finances next month.
A requisition meeting has been called by Captain of the Parish Thomas Caley after receiving a letter signed by 12 residents.
The meeting’s intention is to discuss the 37% rates increase passed by the local authority, as well as the cost and future funding of The Roundhouse.
The meeting will be held at 7pm on March 11 at The Roundhouse. However, as this is after the deadline by which the DHSC has said it will block access from the Noble’s Hospital estate, residents will have to park in the Palatine Health Centre or elsewhere away from the grounds and walk to it.
Rich MacNee recently tweeted (X) to say he had sent the letter to Captain Caley and said: ‘The call for the requisition meeting is to understand from Braddan Comms the justification for the 36.6% rate increase announced last week, the cost of the Roundhouse (double the original estimate), and future funding of the same as I can’t understand how it will break even.’
He also indicated a vote of no confidence, while non-binding, could be called in the authority.
