Councillor Crellin Keeps the Chain
Douglas City Council has confirmed that Councillor S.R. Crellin, J.P. has been selected as Mayor for the next municipal year, subject to formal approval in May.
The decision was made at a special private meeting held on Thursday, March 26, with Cllr Crellin signalling his intention to accept the role if it is confirmed at the Annual Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 13.
Representing Douglas South, he was first elected to the council in 2021 and secured re-election in April 2025.
If rubber-stamped, he will serve as mayor until May 2027 – chains, ceremonies and all.
