Green Waste

Douglas Council will be starting its Green Waste Collections from next Monday, running through to the end of November.

Introduced at the same time as the controversial cut in bin collections to fortnightly, the Council say the collection will be taken on the same day of the week as the normal collections, just on alternate weeks, so if your bin is taken on a Thursdays, the green waste will be on the next Thursday.

Anyone who has previously ordered a new garden waste bin and still hasn’t received it, or wishes to take part in the garden waste collection service and requires a green bin, should contact the Council on 696445 or e-mail: recycling@douglas.gov.im

SARDA

Isle of Man Dog Club has donated £300 to the Search and Rescue Dog Association. The cash was raised at events during 2022.

Trainee search dog Mop with his handler Olivia Crowe and trainee search dog Steve with his handler Ben Scott received the donation from members earlier this week.

SARDA said: ‘Thank you from all here at SARDA IOM for your hard work in raising the money, which will be put to good use buying/upgrading important search equipment that our dog teams use on callouts.’

Foxdale

There is meeting tomorrow evening at Foxdale Primary School to discuss the future of St Paul’s Church. The church is due to be closed as a place of worship. In the future services, including funerals, will be held at Marown with burials and access to the cemetery at Foxdale remaining available.
