Planning a Petition? Don’t Be Shy – Tell Us First

Published

Tynwald Day is nearly upon us, Monday, July 7, mark your calendars (and enjoy that sweet, sweet bank holiday).

As well as the usual flag waving, marching bands and general sense of national pride, it’s also the one day a year where you can rock up to St John’s and officially ask the Manx Government to sort their act out, by presenting a petition for redress of grievance.

Sounds dramatic, but it’s really just the official Manx way of saying: ‘Oi, sort this out!’

Whether anything actually changes… well, ask Trevor Cowin.

If you’re planning to present one this year, let us know beforehand.

Not only does it help us tell your story properly, but it’s also the best way to get some eyeballs on your cause.

The sooner you get in touch, the better job we can do covering it. Email us at newsdesk@iomtoday.co.im or hello@gef.im and chuck in your phone number while you’re at it.

There’s absolutely no reason to keep it a secret until you’re standing on the hill – help us help you get your message out there.

Need more info on how to actually go about it? Check out the Tynwald website HERE or ring the Legislative Buildings on 685500. They’ve got all the official bits and bobs.

Good luck and have a great Manx day!
