Plans Submitted for Sewage Works
The authority said its planning application was submitted on November 30.

Manx Utilities says it has submitted plans for its new sewage works in Peel, which should finally bring an end to the dumping of raw sewage into the sea on the west of the island.
The authority said its planning application was submitted on November 30.
In an update, it said: ‘The submission is now undergoing final checks by the Planning Department before they make them available for public access. The application includes a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Flood Risk Assessment, a Statement of Community Involvement and a Road Safety Audit Report amongst others.’
Glenfaba and Peel MHK Kate Lord-Brennan welcomed the news, saying: ‘Finally a planning application has been submitted for sewage treatment facility for Peel. The agreement to purchase land is subject to planning permission being received and pre-application discussions with key parties have been going on for a while.’
Despite this development, Garff is still seemingly some time off seeing plans submitted for its own regional treatment site.
The MUA said: ‘Designs for the Pump Stations at Glen Garwick and at the Cairn are progressing and we have undertaken some foliage clearance at Glen Garwick to assist with this. We are also finalising discussions with landowners at the sites of the intermediate pump stations. This month, we are also progressing with trial trenches in Telephone Exchange Road to verify locations of existing services.’
It has previously said that plans are ‘currently envisaged to be in the spring of next year’.
