No Room at the Inn
Vera Barber has been caring for the small animals since the 1980s.
The Hedgehog Lady of Peel says she can’t take anymore of the animals at this time as her rescue centre is full.

In a post on Facebook, Vera said she has 33 hedgehogs which require looking after, including cleaning and feeding.
She said: ‘Plus all the cages which I use in my house, for the newcomers, are in use (even the ones held together by duct tape). I do have a few guests who, given some warmer weather, would be able to go back out into the wild, but for now, I’m truly sorry, “there’s no room at the inn”
‘Merry Christmas. In all the years I have been caring for hedgehogs I have only ever turned away one hedgehog due to having no room for it, and that was quite a few years ago when John was very poorly.’
Vera said that anyone who finds a hedgehog that needs help should contact the MSPCA for the time being.
