The board of the Southern Swimming Pool have said it will reopen at 7am tomorrow.

The board of the Southern Swimming Pool have said it will reopen at 7am tomorrow.
The pool, in Castletown, was closed due to health and safety concerns over lighting in the middle of December.
Announcing its reopening, the board said: ‘Our journey to this moment has involved overcoming significant challenges, including structural concerns with pool hall lights and insufficient lighting levels. Through persistent efforts, we have installed temporary safety supports and enhanced our lighting, ensuring the pool is a safe and welcoming space for all.
‘We deeply appreciate your patience and support during this period. As we reopen, rest assured that further comprehensive assessments for long-term sustainability and safety are planned. We eagerly await your return and look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning!’
Swimming lessons will resume next week.
The future of the southern pool has been up in the air for some time due to funding issues, while many have said a new pool should be built in line with the construction of the long awaited replacement for Castle Rushen High School.
