The Government Aren’t Doing Enough

‘I can’t even afford my daughter school uniform.’

After our Jean-jee red ennagh series, where our readers told us their thoughts and concerns of the cost of living crisis, we asked the same readers for their response to the gov’s support package.

This is one woman’s response.

I don’t think will help me much, as I am trying to still play catch up with bills and rent still. The little extra money is not a lot and won’t really help. Once you’re in debt, it’s very hard to get out of it.

I can’t afford still to buy a full shopping for us. I can’t even afford my daughter school uniform.

I am trying my hardest but it’s damn hard when I keep getting rejected from social and they don’t want to help. Supposed to start college on Monday and I can’t now as can’t afford it with living cost going up.

The government aren’t doing enough.

Everyone is in the same boat everyone is going to struggle.

I feel like it isn’t going to get any better.

It makes me so depressed and sad how I can’t even provide properly for my daughter.

Mental health is going to be sky high soon as everyone is struggling and I know loads people already attempting suicide but of money issues and debt.

The Isle of Man needs to do better and help everyone.

I can’t even afford to buy presents or have a party for my daughter and am dreading Christmas. This isn’t the life I wanted for myself or my daughter.

The Isle of Man is suppose to be a wealthy place and it isn’t. Everything so dam expensive and everyone is going to struggle and it’s so sad.
