Glenfaba and Peel MHK Tim Crookall is to be the new chair of Manx Utilities.

Mr Crookall will replace Tim Johnston, who has recently joined CoMin as DfE Minister, where he succeeded (checks notes) Tim Crookall, after a spell from caretaker minister Alf Cannan and blink and you’ll miss it Lawrie Hooper’s spell there.

He will take over as chairman at a time when the MUA has announced increases of over 50% in electricity prices, with service charges for water and sewerage going up too.

Mr Crookall resigned from CoMin last year having been moved from the DoI to DfE, he is currently a member of DfE with responsibility for tourism and motorsport.

Tynwald will be asked to approve the appointment later this month.
