15 Medals for T45 Jiu-Jitsu Team in UK Tournament
Both Junior & Adult Teams Win Second Place Team Trophy
You can never have enough Jiu-Jitsu and the Island is overflowing with impressive Jiu-Jistu-ers.
Over the weekend, T45 Jiu-Jitsu Isle of Man took a team of 4 kids and 9 adults to Grappling Industries in Birmingham. After more than 60 matches between them, the team came away with 8 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals and 4 Bronze medals. The results were enough to earn second place team trophy in both the adults division and the kids division.
The junior team did exceptionally well, with William Christian, Charlie Simpson and Ellis Connell each winning their divisions to bring back the gold.
Freddie Perriam had a tough few fights after being merged into both a higher weight bracket and a higher belt division despite having trained less than a year. Not letting this faze him, he took to the mats and though ultimately lost his matches, his skill and determination maintained the pace of the higher division.
Coach Myles Joughin said he’s:
‘Incredibly proud of the performance of each of team members. Since opening last year, I’ve had the privilege of watching our team go from strength to strength and it was an incredible experience to see them demonstrate this in a competition setting.’
