Back to the Bowl – The Curtain Closer

After four wins on the bounce, FC Isle of Man welcome Wythenshawe Town to the Bowl on Saturday, as Paul Jones’ side aim to end the season on a high.

The last two games have seen impressive wins over two promotion chasing sides, as the Ravens have made clear they are not yet in holiday mode.

Taking a look at the home side first, Paul Jones welcomes Dean Kearns back into the fold between the sticks, with the Rushen man replacing St George’s Ben Wilkinson. That isn’t the only change in the squad as Sean Doyle, Al Maitland, Mikey Williams and Jack McVey all drop out.

Even with the changes, it is still a strong squad with Furo Davies, Ste Whitley, Tiernan Garvey and Karl Clark all included as Jones looks towards next season while seeking to end this one on a high.

When the sides met earlier this season, Davies’ stunning 30 yard goal secured a point for the Ravens in a 2-2 draw at the Ericstan Stadium.

Since then FC Isle of Man have flirted with relegation, pulled themselves away from the danger with some brilliant results and have shown a maturity to their recent performances which with it has brought more of a consistency that has seen them climb the table.

As for the visitors, Town know they need to win and will be hoping that Avro slip up against 19th place Barnoldswick Town. With Bury AFC (more on them to come in the next few weeks) out of the promotion hunt, the two sides know only one of them can go through to the play-off.
