An evening with reigning UK Championship snooker player Mark Allen has so far pocketed £200 for Isle Listen.
Nine time ranking event winner Mark Allen visited the island over the weekend.
Hosted by Douglas Snooker Bar, ‘The Pistol’ beat a group of islanders who had signed up to play him in exhibition frames.
He was, however, beaten by the island’s pro pool player Dave Addinnall, who beat him 3-1 on the smaller table.
Bar owner Greg Cowell said that the bar also welcomed another prolific Northern Irishman over the weekend as 25 time TT winner Michael Dunlop stopped by.
Greg said: ‘Mark was another lovely gentleman doing an extra couple at the end of the night, one for our fantastic referee Paul Smyth and the second for a fan who really wanted to play him. He stayed after for a few quiet drinks and played pool with the lads. Excellent.’
He is hoping to raise more cash for the charity through a silent auction which is giving fans the chance to win two signed balls. One has been signed by Allen and the other by former world-champ Shaun Murphy, who also recently played at the bar, where he racked up a 147.
Greg is also auctioning off a signed and framed picture of Mark Allen.
