Bury Game Unlikely to be Played This Weekend

FC Isle of Man’s game against Bury is now likely going to be rearranged for a future date.

This evening’s game was postponed due to the Shakers’ plane being unable to land at Ronaldsway.

Bury had been trying to get people on this evening’s Manchester flight to give up seats for their players in exchange for Steam Packet tickets. While they have succeeded in their bid, the Bury squad has apparently already left the airport.

Fc Isle of Man said: ‘Unfortunately after a lot of hard work from all at FC Isle of Man and Loganair in an effort to get the game played tomorrow whilst Bury fans still on Island, we regret to announce that as things stand the game won’t be played this weekend.

‘At 15:39 FC Isle of Man confirmed to Bury FC officials that Loganair had secured a place on this evening’s Loganair 18:20pm flight from Manchester to the Isle of Man for all 22 of the Bury FC official travelling party. However we are sadly informed that the players had left the airport at 15.30pm and the opposition club aren’t making any attempt to get the players back. We can only hope that there is a reconsideration of this decision and they return to the airport for the flight so that the game can be played tomorrow.’

There has been criticism on social media that Bury has not managed to get its players to the island or chosen to travel overnight.
