Cav Threatened ‘with Rambo knife’ Trial Hears
The events of the trial have been reported by BBC News
Mark Cavendish’s wife has told a court that a masked intruder dragged the Manx missile to his feet and held a ‘Rambo style’ knife to his throat.
Peta Cavendish was giving evidence at the trial of two men accused of robbing the family at their Essex home in November 2021.
Describing the home invasion as ‘everyone’s worst nightmare’, Mrs Cavendish recalled seeing ‘men’s figures in balaclavas’ who ‘ran towards the bottom of the stairs’.
She said: ‘One of the men had him [Mr Cavendish] in a headlock. One of them held a large black knife to his throat and they said “where’s the watches?” and “do you want me to stab you?”.’
Also giving evidence, Mr Canvendish detailed how the men were insistent about watches that he had been given as a brand ambassador for Richard Mille.
He also described the knife the man held to his face as ‘black and had holes in it’, also saying it ‘wasn’t a knife you have in a kitchen’.
Romario Henry, 31, of Bell Green, Lewisham, south-east London and 28-year-old Oludewa Okorosobo, of Flaxman Road, Camberwell, south London, deny two counts of robbery.
Jo Jobson and George Goddard have also been named suspects in the case but have not been apprehended by police.
Ali Sesay, 28, of Holding Street, Rainham, Kent, admitted two counts of robbery at an earlier hearing.
The trial at Chelmsford Crown Court continues.
