Community Pools Dive Into Free Swimming Initiatives
The scheme is only available during term time and for the period October 31 to March 31.
The island three regional pools have announced plans to offer free swimming sessions to children, parents and the over 60s.
The northern, western and southern boards are offering the sessions as a warm space from the end of this month.
Running during term-time, the initiative will also allow for an adult to swim for free with a child of primary school age to ‘ensure that cost is not a barrier to those who may need to support children under 8 who cannot swim unaccompanied or indeed a child(ren) aged 8 – 11 who is not a confident swimmer’.
Working within the constraints of our existing swim school activities and capacity, the regional pools have established the following timetable:
Monday – Western Pool 6pm-7.30pm
Tuesday – Northern Swimming Pool – 5pm-6.30pm
Wednesday – Northern Swimming Pool – 5.30pm-7.00pm
Thursday – Western Swimming Pool 6pm-7.30pm
Friday – Northern Swimming Pool – 6pm-7.30pm
Saturday – Southern Swimming Pool – 2.15pm-4.15pm
