One Way And Another

The Board of Castletown Town Commissioners has rubbished a ‘false narrative being shared on social media that the One Way restriction on Castle Street has been implemented on a permanent basis’.

It added: ‘It remains the understanding of both the Commissioners and DOI Highway Services that the temporary one way will revert to two way traffic, on or before April 10. It is further understood that the Bus Service will be reverting to the previous two way arrangements and will cease to regularly serve the bypass. The Commissioners continue to liaise with political members and officers for the DOI and firmly believe that the Town requires a wider review of traffic regulation orders in the town rather than individual streets in isolation.’

Following feedback from residents, Highway Services and the Commissioners have discussed the concept of introducing an unrelated permanent one way regulation on the Crofts

While it has rubbished the Castle Street gossip, the local authority has created brief survey for those who may wish to make their views known regarding the road.

You can find that here.

Football

Good luck to our IOMFA Academy Boys U13’s squad who are travelling to Leeds United at the end of the week (given the Yorkshire side’s recent form they’d probably beat the senior side).
The squad will play a Leeds United FC U13 breakthrough team in a friendly on Friday evening at Leeds United’s training ground at Thorparch Grange, Wetherby. On Saturday morning the squad will play a second game against Leeds united academy U12’s.

The FA said: ‘A good opportunity for the players to continue their learning both on and off the pitch. Enjoy it boys.’

The Dog Ate my Ticket

An amazing story from Newcastle today as a Toon fan heading to Wembley for the league cup final came home to find his puppy, Rudy, had eaten his match tickets.

ITV reported: ‘Alan Carling was returning home downtrodden from his team’s home defeat against Liverpool on Saturday 18 February when his day got considerably worse.’

“I realised it was my Carabao Cup final tickets for me and my wife,” he told ITV News Tyne Tees. “My jaw just dropped and I was in sheer amazement. I think I told the dog to just leave the room. I was gobsmacked. Wor tickets were here. But the dog’s eaten them.”

Fortunately he will be able to get new tickets, as for Rudy, he’s well and truly in the dog house.
