Ravens Down Storks

Charlie Higgins climbed off the bench to secure a 2-1 win for FC Isle of Man on Saturday evening.

The come from behind win ended a two-game loosing run and moves Paul Jones’ side up into 12th.

After a stop-start first half with few chances, the game came to life in the second half and provided a great 45 minutes of football.

Padiham took the lead, against the run of play, when Tyler Beck rose highest from Joel Melia’s free kick to head past Adam Kelley.

The Ravens weren’t behind for long as Dean Pinnington’s pinpoint free kick squirmed past Harley Moss, who probably should’ve done better down to his right.

With little over 25 minutes left, Higgins would be introduced, replacing Dean Leece for his appearance of the season.

Just over 10 minutes later he pounced on a loose pass, played Frank Jones into the channel, he found Pinnington who set up Higgins to fire home into the bottom corner to give FC Isle of Man the lead for the first time.

Despite some dangerous moments at the back for the Ravens, Adam Killey and his defence held out to secure a good win.

Paul Jones takes his side to second-bottom Glossop North End on Wednesday night. The Derbyshire side have not won a game yet this season, picking up just one point so far.
