Manx rugby player Patreece Bell has been named in Ireland U20 Six Nations squad.
The 19-year-old joined the Sale Sharks developing player programme on the Isle of Man when he was 15 having played for Nomads and Castle Rushen High School, as well as the island’s junior teams.
Picked as one of four props forward in the squad, Bell is the only England based prop in the squad, joining Jacob Boyd (Ulster) and Ben Howard, Andrew Sparrow and Alex Usanov (all Leinster).
Bell is one of a four man Manx(ish) contingent at Sale, joining Harry Thompson and Aaron Pope, who also went through the Isle of Man Sale Sharks DPP and Bevan Rodd (don’t @ me).
He has previously represented England at U18 level, making his debut against Italy in 2021.
Ireland open their campaign against France on Saturday February 3 at the Stade Maurice David in Aix-en-Provence before back-to-back games against Italy (February 9) and Wales (February 23) at Musgrave Park in Cork.
