MGP: 2024 Schedule Unveiled

The 2024 MGP will see the return of the Classic Junior Manx Grand Prix.

Five days of qualifying will commence on Sunday August 18 2024 ahead of a six-race schedule spread across the Summer Bank Holiday weekend.

Racing will begin on Friday August 23 with both the Lightweight Manx Grand Prix and the Classic Senior Manx Grand Prix.

Saturday August 24 will begin with a three-lap Classic Junior Manx Grand Prix, which returns to the race programme for the first time since 2019. Last run under the Classic TT banner, the class is home to smaller capacity 350cc bikes and the closely-matched machinery has often delivered some spectacular racing, with past winners including Michael Dunlop, Lee Johnston, Michael Rutter, Jamie Coward, and Dominic Herbertson.

The second day of racing action then concludes with the four-lap Junior Manx Grand Prix for Supertwin machines.

The 2024 event will culminate on the Summer Bank Holiday of Monday August 26 with the headline Senior and Classic Superbike Manx Grand Prix Races. Both races are scheduled to be held over a four-lap distance.

In addition to confirming the racing schedule for 2024, the Manx Motorcycle Club has also announced that there will be further recognition for performances by amateur competitors in the Lightweight, Classic Junior, Classic Senior, and Classic Superbike Races.

Entrants will be classified with either ‘TT’ or ‘Clubman’ status. Competitors who have entries accepted for the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races will be determined as TT, whilst those outside of that criteria will be classified as Clubman and will be presented with a specific set of awards.
