New Sponsor Needed for Railway Cup
The final is traditionally held on Boxing Day.
The FA is searching for a new sponsor for the Railway Cup.
Pitting the Premier League’s four top teams against each other, the final is traditionally held on Boxing Day.
The FA said: ‘The title sponsor has the opportunity to host an event for their guests in the IOMFA boardroom, which overlooks the pitch. The sponsor will also be invited to present the magnificent Railway Cup trophy to the winning team.’
The format for the trophy has changed over the years as it was originally open to all association members but in 1936 the present format was adopted, with the top four teams in the top flight, at the half way stage, contesting the semi-finals.
At one time the Isle of Man Railway Company was involved in the running of the competition and helped select the venues for the semi-finals.
