A course for new referees will be held next month, as the FA looks to bolster the number of officials.

From this season, referees will be paid a match fee of £35 plus travel expenses.
The FA said: ‘Our referee workforce is both ageing, and shrinking. We need some new blood, who will be ready to pick up the whistle next season (with support from mentors and our FA team). The match fee is now £35 plus travelling expenses so there’s great extra income opportunities too.’
