Pinnington Scores First Bury Goal
With just two games left to play for the top three, Wythenshawe Town, Wythenshawe and Bury are separated by just one point
Dean Pinnington opened his account for Bury last night as the Shakers kept up the pressure on league leaders Wythenshawe Town.
With just two games left to play for the top three, Wythenshawe Town, Wythenshawe and Bury are separated by just one point with Town on 92 and Wythenshawe and Bury on 91.
The former FC Isle of Man winger, who scored seven goals in 30 appearances for the Ravens, moved to Bury in March and has made six appearances for the Shakers so far.
Pinnington’s big moment came in Bury’s win at Gigg Lane over Ramsbottom, the club’s X (Twitter) account said: ‘He seemed to have the entire defence trying to pull him back but he put in a herculean effort to shrug everyone of them off to calmly slot it past the keeper!’
Despite a late goal from Ramsbottom, Bury held on to secure a 2-1 win.
Bury had a quick turnaround to play Paidham on Saturday afternoon as the visitors seek to secure a playoff spot.
However, if Bury win and a few other results go their win, then provided the Ravens can win tonight away at Colne and on Saturday at Barnoldswick, whisper it quietly, but the Ravens could just swoop in to steal that last spot in the battle for promotion.
