Police Probe Burnabowl Damage
Spent matches were discovered melted into the surface
Police are investigating damage to the pitch at the Bowl which someone had a go at setting it alight.
The damage occurred sometime between 9pm on Saturday April 8 and 6.30am on Thursday April 13.
The Astro Turf had been set alight and spent matches were discovered melted into the surface at the point where the fire was set.
Police said: ‘The value of the damage is approximately £2000 and will cause considerable inconvenience due to the need for specialist contractors to repair it. We ask anybody who has information about this incident to come forward.’
