Powerlifters Fundraising for New Zealand Comp

Manx Powerlifting is looking for support to send a team of powerlifters to the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships in New Zealand.

The championships are on from November 28 to December 4 in Auckland.

Member Jo Core told Gef: ‘This will be the first time a Manx Powerlifting Team has taken part in an International Competition and it is a very exciting opportunity for our roster of athletes, an opportunity we would love to make available for as many as possible.

‘We are selecting team members to make this journey and are looking for financial support as the costs are expected to be about £2,000 per athlete. The roster of female and male athletes selected so far includes ages from 15-50 years old. This is a very exciting time for the sport of powerlifting.

‘Costs will include flights, accommodation and some team clothing. We have a range of sponsorship packages and all come with advertising / promotion of the companies involved. We are also running a variety of fundraising activities, getting some fabulous prizes donated too and hope lots of you will get involved.
