Manxie Teresa Evans has brought home the gold after winning a highly competitive pool tournament in Blackpool.
She won the Ultimate Pool Women’s Challenger Plate Trophy at the seaside town’s Grand Hotel.
The win was Teresa’s first Ultimate Pool trophy and came after a 3-2 win in the final.
Speaking to Ultimate Pool after the final, Teresa said she was ‘shocked’ to win the competition.
She added: ‘It’s obviously it’s a long journey for us long weekends for us. But ultimately the rewards at the end of the day are worth it.’
Asked about women’s pool on the island how her win would be celebrated at home, Teresa said: ‘I think trying to get ladies pool up and running again is something we’d like to do and I think the Isle of Man will be proud of me.’
The 2024 Ultimate Pool Women’s Series will feature ten events at five long weekends throughout the year – five ‘main’ events and five plate events. The next is in April.
