Contractors to Ensure There’s no Cracks on Show

The DoI says its surface dressing contractor, Kiely Bros. Ltd is currently applying crack seal on the various roads that are to be surface dressed later this year.

Sealing cracks ahead of surface dressing is effective in reducing the instances of water ingress and potholes forming in newly surface-dressed roads.

It said: ‘Kiely’s team is currently working on Poortown Road, German and will be there all of this week. Two-way traffic is being maintained through stop/go boards. Please moderate your speed.

‘Be aware that these are mobile works and will likely have moved if you do a return journey on the road.’
