How to Use a Pedestrian Crossing

The DoI has issued a how to guide for people preparing to take their life in their own hands and use its new puffin crossing on Victoria Road.

Installing the crossing was a condition of the planning consent for the new Summerhill View residential home.

As all the groundworks are in place, the DoI says that as long as the weather is decent, ‘it is hoped to be in a position to test and commission the crossing as a puffin crossing in the next week or so’.

So, how do you use one?

Well, it’s very simple.

Press the button, wait for the green man or the beeping, cross the road, but only if the cars have all stopped, which they should otherwise it could be a crime.
