Packet’s Schedule Changes
Manannan and the Arrow will fill in while the Ben is in dry dock.
The Steam Packet is bringing forward the Ben-my-Chree’s annual scheduled maintenance to before the start of the main season.
She had been due to go into dry dock after TT.
The change comes after the company announced the Manxman will be delayed due to a fault with her gearbox which was uncovered during sea trials.
The Ben is now scheduled to enter dry-dock at Cammell Laird’s on March 23, and return to service for the 08.45am Douglas-Heysham sailing on Friday March 31. Her final scheduled sailing before docking will be Thursday March 23 2.15am from Heysham.
While Manannan is currently underground maintenance and a refit at Carmel Laird’s, she will return on March 23 to cover the Ben’s day sailings to Heysham, with the Arrow providing the overnight freight boat while the Ben is in dry dock.
Manannan will then switch the Liverpool route for the season from March 31.
The Steam Packet said its reservations team will be in touch with anyone affected by the changes.
