Airline Axes Regular Belfast Flights

Emerald Airlines has axed regular Belfast City flights from its schedule after ‘lower than anticipated demand‘ on the route.

Both easyJet and Emerald Airlines (Aer Lingus regional operator) paused the routes to Belfast International and Belfast City in the early weeks of this year.

While next month will see the return of Emerald’s flights between Ronaldsway and Belfast City, it will be a short-lived return, with the airline only running flights two days a week between March 3 and 28.

A spokesperson for the airline told Gef: ‘Following a review of market conditions and lower-than-anticipated demand, Aer Lingus Regional services between the Isle of Man – Belfast City have been adjusted.

‘Flights will continue to operate as normal in the days preceding Easter and around the Isle of Man TT Races, however services outside of these periods will be discontinued.

 ‘We appreciate the understanding of our passengers impacted by this adjustment.’

 Aer Lingus Regional remains committed to the Isle of Man, with services to Dublin continuing as normal and onward connectivity to North America being unaffected.  Aer Lingus Regional will continue to operate up to two services per day between Isle of Man and Dublin with onward connections to a wide range of cities including New York, Boston and Seattle.’

A search of its website does not reveal when the TT flights will operate.

Meanwhile, easyJet will recommence its flights between Ronaldsway and Belfast International in the spring, with flights three days a week from April to June, two days a week from July to August and three days a week in September and October.
