Coastguard Helicopter Meets Ben

This morning’s sailing to Heysham has been met with by a Coastguard helicopter.

The passenger said that they believe there has been a medical emergency onboard with the Ben-my-Chree diverting its route to west of Blackpool.
As the ship diverted, the helicopter met it, with the passenger on board saying a medic was lowered onto the boat and they believe the medic and a patient were lifted and taken away.
They said the helicopter accompanied the Ben for about 10-15 minutes and the sailing has continued on towards Heysham.
