Ferry Across The Mersey

The Manxman has made its inaugural visit to the new Isle of Man Ferry Terminal in Liverpool.

After a bit of pampering in dry dock, where it underwent inspections and maintenance, the flagship vessel was back out this morning getting familiar with its new surroundings in Liverpool.

While the Manxman has been getting fixed up and making its debut, the Ben-my-Chree has been picking up the slack, running passenger services to and from Heysham since September 29.

But fear not – this Friday, October 18, the Manxman will be back in action with its 8:45am sailing from Douglas to Heysham!

During its brief stay in dry dock, the Manxman got a thorough check-up.

The crew inspected all parts of the vessel, including its underwater areas and bow thrusters, making sure everything was shipshape.

They even took care of the damage from that little docking incident at Heysham Port during those blustery August winds.

The Steam Packet Company assures us that this essential maintenance keeps the Manxman in ‘peak operating condition’, so it can continue to meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.

And here’s the cherry on top: after completing these mandatory berthing trials at the new Liverpool terminal, the first official sailing to Liverpool is set for November 9.
