The DoI wants airlines to say how much of a financial incentive they would need to fly from Ronaldsway.

It has issued a Prior Information Notice seeking expressions of interest for airlines to fly from the island to the North West of England and London.

Any airline would need to be ‘suitably capable and experienced airlines interested in operating regular scheduled services from the Isle of Man’.

In seeking expressions of interests, the DoI said that any airline operating the North West routes would need to operate early morning and late evening flights ‘in order to support the island’s business in the region and North West patients’.

The DoI has also asked for: ‘Indicative models of any financial support (if required) which the operator may expect to see on such a service – incentives, commissioning or licencing.’

Airlines interested should also outline what slots they have, particularly at Manchester and Heathrow, London City and Gatwick.
