Mountain Closure Extended
TT23 gets underway in just over three weeks
The closure of the Mountain Road between Ramsey and the Bungalow will continue through next week due to the continuing work to stabilise the rock face at Lhergy Frissell near Waterworks Corner.
Over 2,000 tonnes of material has been removed from site so far.
The DoI has said it hopes the works can be completed by Monday May 15.
It added: ‘If there is any likelihood of this having to be extended any further we will issue a further update towards the middle of next week.
‘To give some idea of the scale of the issue, in excess of 2000 tonnes of material has been removed from site so far. Our contractor Paul Carey & Sons Ltd will continue to work extended hours to get this work completed as soon as possible.’
