Tom’s at the Wheel

The Steam Packet has congratulated Captain Tom Turner, who has taken command of Ben-my-Chree for the first time this week.

Tom’s been with the company since 2014, joining as a second officer.

The company said: ‘Tom came ashore to take on the important role of DPA (Designated Person Ashore) before returning to sea in 2019 as Chief Officer.

‘He undertook his Master’s training at the start of the year and we hope he has many happy years on the bridge ahead of him.’
