Peter Hickman stormed the Superstock race to set a new outright record around the TT at 136.358mph.

Hickman’s final lap was clocked in at 16 minutes 36.114 seconds, which beat Dunlop’s unofficial record from earlier in the fortnight when he did it at 135.531mph (16m 42.189s) on a Superbike!

After a tree related delay to racing (don’t get that anywhere else do you!) the Superstock race go underway about an hour behind schedule.

That delay was soon forgotten as the bikers got the tap on the shoulder and shot off down Bray Hill, with Peter Hickman barely leading Michael Dunlop by 0.159 seconds, while Dean Harrison was in third 2.6 seconds down on, with Ramey Rocket Conor Cummins 2.418 seconds behind and Jamie Coward made up the top five 1.139 seconds behind Cummins.

Davo Johnson was an early retirement at Ballacraine.

By Ballaugh, Hickman had stretched his lead over Dunlop to 1.359 seconds, while Harrison was 5.184 seconds back, with Cummins 4.490 seconds behind. Going through Hairpin on lap one, Dunlop had cut that lead to just 0.8 seconds as the top headed for the the Bungalow, by which time it had stretched back to 1.008 second and 1.8 seconds at Grandstand.

With pitstops at the end of lap one, we picked up the timings at Ballaugh where Hickman led by 3.365 seconds on lap two, with Harrison 13.637 back.

As Hickman came through Bungalow, he was 4.558 seconds clear of Dunlop, while Harrison was 20 seconds back in third, with Cummins 33.818 seconds back in fourth.

Entering the last lap, Hickman had a 5.1 seconds lead to maintain as he head off for Quarterbridge, stretching that to 6.654 seconds at Glen Helen where he was amazingly over four seconds inside his own lap record.

At Ballaugh, Hickman was exactly seven seconds inside the lap record as he led Dunlop by eight seconds.

Hickman’s pace was insane at Hairpin as he was 10 seconds inside the lap record, hitting Superbike pace to be inside the outright lap record.

Looking back down the field, Brookes was just under a second behind Coward in fifth, while the others looked fairly settled in their respective positions.

Coming in at the Grandstand, Hickman had achieved the unimaginable, beating the outright lap record on a Superstock to be the quickest man to ever lap the TT course.
