MD Praises History Making Team
The 25 time winner said his team is the first privateer outfit to win the award
Michael Dunlop has praised his MD Racing team for winning the Team of the Year award at TT23.
Now the second most successful rider in TT history, Dunlop took his overall tally to 25 wins this year and became the first racer to hit the 130mph lap mark on a Supersport.
Taking to Facebook, Dunlop said: ‘This is the first time a non-factory supported private team has won the award. At MD Racing we have No factory or manufacturer support, no endless budget, personally I think we build fast engines in my small workshop and as I have said before these guys all have their own full time jobs as they are not a full time paid team of mechanics and they do a fantastic job in maintaining the bikes.
‘These lads should be proud of themselves and I am forever grateful for all the work and effort they put into helping me I really can’t thank you all enough.’
The team was congratulated by long-time supporter DJ Carl Cox who said they are a ‘truly amazing team’.
